It’s such a vivid world, and it also grapples with some really intense issues. ![]() Gayle Forman: I’m so glad about everything you just said because I do think this is a book full of humor. But most importantly, I think Frankie and Bug fosters that idea of and the discussion of allyship. And I also took away the importance of learning to communicate with friends, not making assumptions we may stumble and make mistakes along the way, and we’ll have to apologize. I took away that everybody has their own story, and it’s so important to practice compassion because you just don’t know what a person is going through. ![]() There’s also so much going on and much to take away that is important for young readers and adults.
